This page summarizes which MailDesk editions and add-ons are available for each Odoo version, and what to expect when you upgrade your Odoo to a new major release.


Editions Γ— Odoo versions

All four MailDesk editions are available for every supported Odoo version. Choose your Odoo version once when you purchase β€” the licence is bound to that major version. See the Licence & Activation Guide for details.

What happens when Odoo releases a new major version?

Odoo publishes a new major version (e.g. Odoo 20) approximately once per year. Your MailDesk experience during that transition depends on your licensing model:


If you subscribe (monthly or yearly)

  • The new MailDesk for the new Odoo major is included in your subscription automatically.
  • No re-purchase required β€” your subscription gives you the right to install MailDesk on the Odoo version you currently run.
  • Your administrator installs the new MailDesk module package alongside (or after) the Odoo upgrade.

If you bought a one-time licence

  • Your one-time licence stays valid for the Odoo major version you chose at purchase (for example, Odoo 18).
  • When you upgrade Odoo to the next major (for example, Odoo 19), purchase a new licence for that Odoo version or switch to a subscription that includes future Odoo majors.
  • Your MailDesk data and mailbox configuration migrate as part of the standard MailDesk upgrade routine.


Not sure which Odoo version you have?

In Odoo, open Settings > Activate Developer Mode, then look at the bottom-left footer of any page β€” the Odoo version is shown there. If you administer Odoo through Odoo.sh, the version is also visible in your Odoo.sh project dashboard.
