What is AI Auto Translation (basic) for?

The module adds a /one-click AI translate/ button into Odoo's standard translation dialog. One click and the selected field is translated into *all active languages* of your database. It works for both plain text and HTML content (e.g. product descriptions, website snippets). Which route does the JS patch call?

The JSON-RPC route /ai_auto_translation/translate with auth='user' . It accepts text , lang_name and an optional context — the backend then uses a regex to detect whether the input contains HTML tags and picks an appropriate prompt. /Code reference:/ controllers/main.py lines 17–18: @http.route('/ai_auto_translation/translate', type='json', auth='user') .

Are translation errors surfaced to the user?

Yes, but generically. Any unexpected exception in the controller is caught, written to the server log via _logger.exception , and only the short message /"Translation failed due to an internal error"/ is returned to the frontend.
