Everything partners need to know

Does MIT compete with me for my customers?
No. MIT is a developer team for email, communication, telephony, AI, servers and development — we don't do accounting, inventory or process consulting. On the contrary: we pass such Odoo enquiries to you. Plus 6 months of deal protection on registered deals.
What do I earn commission on?
On the MIT value of the whole package — licences, managed mail/AI servers, telephony, development, hosting-with-management. Pure pass-through (third-party hardware, hosting at cost) is excluded or carries only a small handling fee. Calculated on amounts actually paid.
Does MIT bring me deals too?
Yes — it's the heart of the alliance. Odoo enquiries outside our expertise (accounting/DATEV, inventory/WMS, manufacturing/MRP, general implementation) we pass to suitable partners for a 10% finder's fee. Core Partners are prioritised.
Do I need a certification or training?
No. There is no certification requirement and no paid training. Your enablement: demo DB, documentation, marketing kit, kick-off call and the direct line to the developers. Free NFR licences are reserved for official Odoo Gold partners.
What are the requirements?
Referral Partner: no formal requirements, just access to potential customers. Sales Partner: Odoo basics and the ability to manage and bill customers. Core Partner: active sales with MIT; official Odoo Gold partners additionally receive free NFR licences.
How does deal protection work?
Once you register a customer in the partner portal (company name + domain), you have 6 months of exclusive protection. During that time no other partner can register the same customer. After 6 months without a close, the protection lapses automatically.
How and when do you pay out?
Recurring commissions (Sales + Core Partner) monthly via SEPA, based on amounts actually paid by the customer. One-time commissions (Referral) after the deal closes. Your margin on services you invoice directly to your customer.
What happens if my customer cancels?
Recurring commissions run for as long as your customer pays. If the customer cancels, the payments for that customer end. One-time commissions are paid at close; on a refund/chargeback within the statutory period the commission is clawed back accordingly.
Are the modules GDPR-compliant and which Odoo versions?
Yes. MailDesk is not SaaS — the modules run entirely on your customer's Odoo server (on-premise or managed hosting in Germany). No data leaves the instance. Odoo 17, 18 and 19 are supported; licensed under the MIT licence.
